National Mahjong Day Stream Lineup
National Mahjong Day is coming in just two days! August 1st is the inaugural celebration of mahjong…at least as registered by Riichi Mahjong Central on the National Day Calendar site.
The planned 24-hour live stream hosted by RMC will be rolling out this Saturday beginning at 12am PDT and the prime time slots have been filling up. Here’s a breakdown of what is planned so far so you can plan your prime viewing times.
6am | Michele Frizzell (Mahjong Central) |
7am | Ryan Adams |
8am | Ryan Adams |
9am | Daniel Moreno |
10am | Gemma Sakamoto |
11am | Masters of Mahjong |
12pm | LU, Silas |
1pm | Pacific Mahjong League |
2pm | Zac Leak |
3pm | OC Riichi Club |
4pm | LAPOM |
5pm | MJ Stars |
6pm | Ryan Adams |
7pm | Ryan Adams |
The topic of several of these acts have remained “To Be Determined” so it’s not entirely known what kind of content to expect. Michele Frizzell of Mahjong Central plans to do an intro to American Mah Jongg. Both of Ryan Adams’ 2-hour blocks will feature streamed play on Sega MJ, and PML will be streaming an hour of their July tournament.
It’s also been dropped by host Kenji that it’s likely a couple of riichi pros from Japan might be making an appearance, but which players and what time they will be live has not yet been confirmed.
It’s great to see that so many contributors have thrown in to support this community event. I look forward to checking out a lot of this content throughout the day!
